"Memory" 30th March 2020

So many memories of Jackie and as you know we go back a long way. Tim first met Jackie back in the late 60’s/early 1970’s at Beeston Young Conservatives and a long time before Round Table days when I met her. Jackie has been a very special part of my life. Firstly our walking group originally set up with Jackie, Jan & Faith. I joined later and we would walk three times a week. Jackie was great at finding new routes to walk with her involvement in inspecting bridle paths and we would wait to see where she suggested. Faith moved away and we continue to walk twice a week with Frank and sometimes Barry and Tim join us. The most magical memory we have is our City breaks we shared with Jackie & Gareth for the past 17 years and will stay with us forever. It all started with us sitting round the table at a 41 club event with Jackie & Gareth and telling them we had been on a cruise and would like to go back to Nice for a better look round. Jackie said ‘If you would like someone to go with let us know’ so later when we were booking to go to Nice we rang Jackie and they agreed to come with us. We had such a good time and got on so well we decided to do another weekend the next year and we did this for the next 17 years. Around February each year we would meet up for a meal to discuss and plan where and when we would go for our next trip. Once we had decided Jackie was always good at getting us organised with hotels and flights. Over the years we have been to some wonderful places both in the UK and abroad. From the very first one in Nice to the last one in Budapest last year each one holds a special place in our hearts. Thank you Jackie and Gareth for sharing such happy times with us. Jane and Tim
