Edward 3rd April 2020

As one of George’s old school friends, my memories of Jackie can be felt in some of the other tributes shared here. But they’re worth repeating. The horse riding pictures that were littered throughout the house. The generosity and kindness in running us around as kids. The patience when we accidentally broke the swing ball at one of Jackie and Gareth’s barbecues. We’ve always called George ‘precious one’. And although it’s usually just a silly nickname whilst taking the p*ss over a beer, that nickname is born from our childhood experiences of Jackie, and her absolute love and adoration of George and her whole family. My memory of Jackie from George and Ellie’s wedding was of her proudly raving about what a ‘lovely son’ she had… and I think one of my favourite New Year celebrations was at George’s house, when Jackie and Gareth made sure there was far too much beer (and food) for a bunch of seven lightweights. I wish I could think of more to say. I can’t imagine how difficult this is for everyone, but I hope there’s reassurance in knowing that everyone is thinking of you and that all our memories of Jackie are filled with her acts of thoughtfulness and love. George - looking forward to giving you a proper hug when this is all over. Ed x
