I have been friends with Jackie since we were 17 and socialised at the Young Conservative club with the emphasis on socialising!! Incredibly we met our future husbands Gareth and Phil together at a disco held in the Hardinge Arms every Saturday night. Remaining good friends our children regularly played together and I enjoyed looking after George as a lively toddler when Jackie wanted to work. Particularly over the last 15 years we've stayed in touch, mainly through arranging over regular home dining evenings, an annual long weekend in London in January together with friends, my brother John and wife Katie. We'd see a couple of shows and enjoy seeing the sights in each other's company. You could say we were almost twins, born only 4 days apart in November and Jackie always delighted in saying how much older than her I was!! She was a really good friend, great company and we will miss her very very much.) So sad we can't all be there to say our goodbyes in these strange times. Sally Chilvers
